A number of Cincinnati area schools are closing the Monday after the Super Bowl in celebration of the Bengals.

Goshen, Newport, Northwest and Milford schools are the latest to be added to the list, as of Monday afternoon.

"Since the beginning of the school year, Milford Schools have been consistent in the message that students thrive and achieve best when they are in the classroom," the district posted on its."However, no one can deny that the Cincinnati Bengals’ recent historic run to Super Bowl LVI has captured the hearts and minds of the Milford community and Bengals fans everywhere."

Some districts tied fundraisers to their school cancellation announcements, stating Super Bowl Monday is contingent on hitting a particular goal to help local families in need. Students and staff at Wyoming City Schools met the district's Snow Dey Challenge and raised more than $6,500 for the Joe Burrow Hunger Relief Fund and the Cincinnati Freestore Foodbank, according to the district's website. The district's next goal is to get to $10,000.
