PetalingJaya MoU itu bertujuan meneroka kolaborasi pertama di Malaysia ke arah memajukan rumusan perbandaran pintar merangkumi Internet Benda (IoT) dan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) dengan sambungan 5G.
Bagi merealisasikan impian itu, satu memorandum persefahaman ditandatangani Sunway Berhad , Celcom Axiata Berhad dan Huawei Techologies Sdn Bhd , hari ini.
Presiden Kumpulan Sunway Berhad, Datuk Chew Chee Kin berkata, kolaborasi tiga pihak itu membolehkan mereka saling memudah cara dan menyokong ekosistem digital bagi mempromosi penggunaan teknologi untuk memperkaya kehidupan orang ramai. Sementara itu, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Celcom Axiata, Idham Nawawi berkata, kolaborasi itu meningkatkan kapasiti pembinaan teknologi dan potensi yang sangat luas dalam menyediakan produk serta perkhidmatan inovatif dan mencipta situasi menang-menang untuk memanfaatkan industri, rakyat dan mencapai aspirasi digital negara.
"Sejak mewakili ujian pertama 5G Malaysia pada 2017, rangkaian teras Celcom dan lebih 2,200 tapak 4G LTE-A kini bersedia untuk peralihan ke arah 5G dan membuka jalan untuk mencapai matlamat kolaborasi tiga pihak," katanya.
