The former Milwaukee Bucks head coach will replace Frank Vogel.
Friday that the Suns have agreed to terms with former Milwaukee Bucks coach Mike Budenholzer, and the deal is massive. Budenholzer will reportedly earn more than $50 million over the life of the five-year contract.
The Suns' new coach has a long history of success, both as an assistant and the head guy. He won four NBA titles with the San Antonio Spurs as an assistant under Gregg Popovich. Budenholzer was hired to lead the Atlanta Hawks in 2013, and in five seasons went 213-197 . In 2015 he was named Coach of the Year when the Hawks won the Southeast Division, and he led them to the playoffs four times. The two sides parted after the team failed to reach the postseason in 2018.
