As the transfer window draws to a close Mamelodi Sundowns are not expected to make drastic changes to the squadThe Brazilians have been relatively quiet in the transfer market, with Supersport United’s Sipho Mbule being the only major addition to an already star-studded squad.
Mbule’s ex-teammate Ronwen Williams’ is the only other expected major incoming, with the deal reportedly in its final stages. Meanwhile, defender Rivaldo Coetzee is expected to return to the team after missing the end of the season due to injury and Ethiopian international Abubeker Nassir returns from his loan spell having joined the club in January.
Sundown's co-coach Rulani Mokwena echoed sentiments that the club is content with how preparations are going for the season ahead. "The first week of our Pre-season [included] intense testing. The work that is done by not just our medical department but also from the conditioning department in assessing the players’ physiology and the physical readiness of the players to take part in full team training.
"We were very satisfied with that and the information that we received was very good," Mokwena told the club's website. The Brazilians’ squad met up for their pre-season training at the start of July. Recently, Masandawana also travelled to Durban where they played a behind-closed-doors friendly against Royal AM on Wednesday, a match the premiership defending champions won 3-2.
