Rulani Mokwena’s charges won the two-legged tie 1-0 on aggregate to set up a clash against their nemesis Wydad Casablanca, who knocked them out of last season’s Caf Champions League in the semi finals. Junior Mendieta was sent off with six minutes remaining for an over-the-top tackle but his teammates held on against the 11-time African champions.
Mothobi Mvala, who was ironically returning from a suspension, was pushed into the middle of the park to fill the void left by the reigning PSL Footballer of the Season.
