Their latest film is an acquisition title at Sundance, with Submarine and CAA handling sales.Lorentzen “proves himself as a deeply respectful and empathetic documentarian,” Sundance programmers note. “Thoughtfully inquisitive, Lorentzen is unafraid of intimacy, yet always careful not to trespass anyone’s boundaries with his camera. is a meditation on faith, loss, and professional sustainability, that successfully finds hope and meaning in seemingly hopeless situations.
He adds, “I want people to see how much energy and bandwidth it takes to really see, hear, and care about another person. How much energy it takes to really empathize, and how painful it can be when it doesn’t work, and how beautiful and powerful it can be when it does. I’m excited to see how the vastness of life experiences that people bring to their viewing will intersect with the moments in the film itself.”will screen four additional times at Sundance — on January 22, 23, 25 and 26.
