United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has for the first time conceded his Conservative Party faces the prospect of defeat at the next general election, but insisted a minority Labour government would be"a disaster for Britain." Mr Sunak's appeal to quell factional infighting, amid fierce criticism from hard right members of his government and the open threat of rebellion, appeared to do little to calm MPs concerned about the local wipe-out.
