The 10 most dangerous intersections in Summit County are scattered scattered across six different municipalities, with four located in Akron.
CLEVELAND, Ohio -- and The Plain Dealer with 2020 data that shows where the most dangerous intersections are located in six Northeast Ohio counties. This is the latest data available for a whole calendar year.
Summit County Sheriff Inspector Bill Holland said the locations in Green have high volumes of traffic on a daily basis. Those locations are the intersection of South Arlington Road at Arlington Ridge and the intersection of Massillon Road at Sandy Knoll Drive and Interstate 77. The four Akron intersections on the list also have high volumes of traffic, Akron police Lt. Michael Miller said. One of those intersections, East Archwood Avenue near South Arlington Road, was the site of a Sept. 4 crash that injured four police officers and another driver,“The vast majority of our crash incidents are operator error/assured clear distance incidents, meaning a vehicle is struck from behind,” Miller said.
