Summit County residents can enroll in Property Record Alert beginning May 13. The free alert system notifies property owners when any title or deed documents are recorded using their personal information.
AKRON, Ohio – With title theft and deed fraud remaining a pervasive problem in the U.S., the Summit County Fiscal Office is offering a free automated email alert system to help county residents protect themselves against fraud, the office announced Thursday.
The email alert system, Property Record Alert, notifies property owners when any documents are recorded using their personal information, according to a news release. Property owners can then determine if the recordings are valid or possibly fraudulent.
