The National Weather Service is once again warning of an elevated fire risk across central Pa. on Thursday.
Central Pennsylvania will enjoy another unseasonably warm day Thursday, but the dry, breezy weather also will bring a risk of wildfires, forecasters say.
Residents are urged to exercise caution if handling any potential ignition sources, such as machinery, cigarettes, or matches. If dry grasses and tree litter begin to burn, the fire will have the potential to spread rapidly. It will be mostly sunny with temps soaring into the mid-80s Thursday and wind gusts of 15 to 25 mph. Friday also will see a high of 85 before things cool — slightly — on Saturday, when the National Weather Service says a high temperature of 75 degrees could be accompanied by afternoon showers.
Sunday could also bring rain and a chance of thunderstorms, ushering in cooler temperatures on Monday. For more information on wildfire danger, burn restrictions and wildfire prevention and education, people should visit the
