This year, the city of Sugar Land will partner with 501c3 nonprofitto offer multiple education and engagement opportunities, including storm drain marking, rain barrel distribution, an environmental movie night under the stars, and more.
In 2021, more than 530 volunteers devoted over 15,861 hours of service to the city, contributing more than $452,000 in in-kind donations. The Serve Sugar Land program began in 2007 to connect residents with volunteer opportunities and encourage them to become involved in local government.The 21 participants met Thursday evening from January through April to learn about the structure, function, and purpose of city government.
