Community leaders break ground on an almost $3.3 million development in Sugar Land’s First Colony community.Construction has begun on a $3.26 million project to create a connected trail network within Sugar Land's First Colony neighborhood.
The work will provide 10-foot-wide trail connections from the intersection of Lexington Boulevard and Austin Parkway to the existing Woodstream Trail. The project will include a below-grade crossing at Sweetwater Boulevard and construction of four pedestrian bridges. "I'm really excited about this project because it will create a connected trail network within First Colony and will deliver on the promise we made to our residents in 2013," City Councilwoman Carol McCutcheon said.
