7ds agoNews 12 has learned that several of President-elect Donald Trump's cabinet nominees, including former Rep. Lee Zeldin, are facing threats of violence.
News 12 has confirmed that Suffolk County police responded to the Republican's home after receiving reports of a bomb threat at 8:52 a.m.“A pipe bomb threat targeting me and my family at our home today was sent in with a pro-Palestinian themed message," Zeldin said in a statement. "My family and I were not home at the time and are safe. We are working with law enforcement to learn more as this situation develops.
The Trump transition team said in a statement, "Law enforcement acted quickly to ensure the safety of those who were targeted. President Trump and the entire transition team are grateful for their swift action." The FBI says it is aware of numerous bomb threats and swatting incidents targeting Trump Cabinet nominees and appointees. The agency said it is working with law enforcement and encouraged the public to report anything they consider suspicious.
