The infamous eco-friendly cardboard beds from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics have made a comeback at this year’s games in Paris, and some athletes are not happy.
Athletes are fuming over the now infamous cardboard beds and living conditions in the Paris Olympic village with global sensations like Simone Biles expressing utter confusion at the situation.
“This is carboard, as you can see it’s like a box and then you’ve got the mattress and then these carboard boxes here, like so, with the mattress on top,” British diver Tom Daley explained in a TikTok video.While some athletes said they are more than happy with the beds, others have mentioned sore backs and trouble with the firmness.
However Australia’s head swimming coach Rohan Taylor later said the Olympics always present different challenges for athletes. “The Olympics has always been this way and that’s the way it is. And that’s and that’s the beauty of it.”Tennis sensation Coco Gauff revealed in the comments on one of her own videos someone from the archery team had lent her a mattress topper.
