The Pearl is hosting a " Stuff The Bus " backpack drive alongside Communities in Schools to gather supplies for kids in need. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 7, the Pearl is hosting its first “ Stuff The Bus ” school supply drive, partnering with Communities In Schools and The CE Group to gather supplies for children in underserved communities.
The Pearl released a statement saying that according to the National Retail Federation, the average cost of school supplies for families with children enrolled in K-12 was $890. Communities in Schools of San Antonio has been hosting “Stuf The Bus” drives annually to help lift that burden from parents. The drives provide thousands of students across the Alamo city with essential school supplies, giving them the best chance to succeed in the upcoming year. “As an effort to continue our company giving initiative, Champions of Experience, we are thrilled to be partnering with both Pearl and CIS-SA on something as impactful as serving the next generation of educated leaders in our community with the tools to build a brighter future,” says President and CEO of CE Group, Janet Holliday. Attendees who donate backpacks at the event will have the chance to win two free tickets to see musical trio LA LOM at the recently renovated Stable Hall.
