Gilead Sciences said its latest study of an antiviral drug showed that patients with severe Covid-19 taking it over a five-day period had similar improvement compared with those taking over 10 days

Gilead Sciences Inc. said its phase 3 study for the antiviral remdesivir demonstrated that patients with severe Covid-19 taking the drug over a five-day treatment had similar improvement compared with those taking the 10-day course.

The biopharmaceutical company also said it is aware of data emerging from a National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases study of the treatment over 10 days and that the institute would provide more details.
