Political expert Ralph Mathekga said he struggled to find evidence where political parties specifically focused on the plight of students in the country. “I am not aware of any party focusing on smaller groups, but you do see students being represented, like what you see in the student command of the Economic Freedom Fighters.

Optimistic that there was a particular party that would change that narrative, Wits student activist Kamohelo Chauke said the Economic Freedom Fighters was the only answer to the plight of students struggling in tertiary institutions across the country.
