/Gray News/AP) — Three people are dead, including the teen suspect, and six others were injured during a school shooting in Madison , Wisconsin .
Officers then found the suspected shooter, who was a student at the school, with what is believed to have been a self-inflicted gunshot wound inside the building.Rupnow died during transport to the hospital, the police chief said.A search was being done at the suspect’s home on Monday night.Six others were injured in the shooting, Barnes added. Two of those victims are students and they were hospitalized in critical condition with life-threatening injuries.
Police had initially said that five people were killed and five were injured, but have since updated that statement to say that only three people, including the suspected shooter, have died.“Today is a sad, sad day, not only for Madison, but for our entire country,” Barnes told reporters.All surviving students were reunited with their families by early Monday evening.
