McGinty on Tuesday found that Jujuan Tao violated terms of her bond after her September arrest at a Toledo massage parlor and ordered her jailed as she awaits her Nov. 13 trial in this county.CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A woman accused earlier this year of running a prostitution ring out of a Strongsville massage parlor had her bond revoked this week after she was recently arrested during a similar sting in Toledo.
Jujuan Tao, 48, had been free on a personal bond since her March 1 arraignment in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court on charges of racketeering, conspiracy, promoting prostitution and money laundering. Judge Timothy J. McGinty on Tuesday found that Tao violated terms of her bond after her September arrest and ordered her jailed as she awaits her Nov. 13 trial involving the Strongsville case.
Tao was working at a parlor in Toledo on Sept. 26 and offered to perform a sex act on an undercover officer for $60, according to Toledo Municipal Court documents. Police in that city arrested Tao and five other people as part of the sting. Tao, of Strongsville, is charged with felony promoting prostitution and misdemeanor soliciting in Toledo Municipal Court. She was freed after that arrest when a Florida man posted her $10,000 bond, according to court records.with conspiring to create and run a prostitution ring using several massage parlors as a front to launder the illicit proceeds. The operation ran from June 11, 2020, through Aug. 19, 2022, when investigators raided the businesses, the indictment said.
