'Strong evidence' Eleanor Williams wrote letters she claims were from abusers, jury is told
A woman accused of lying about being the victim of an Asian grooming gang is likely to have written letters she claimed were from one of her abusers, a court has heard.
Forensic handwriting expert Stephen Coslett told the court there was strong evidence the letters were written by Williams, not by Mr Ramzan. The jury heard he compared the letters to handwriting samples from Mr Ramzan and Williams. He said: “In my opinion the similarities provide strong evidence to show Miss Williams had wrote out these documents. I couldn’t exclude the possibility someone who writes in a similar style was responsible but I consider that to be unlikely.
The court has heard Williams purchased a similar hammer from Tesco eight days before the incident. Barbara Webster, prosecuting, said Williams was trying to claim the hammer she purchased from Tesco was one found in her home address, rather than the one which was found in the field.
