Strong container shipping growth is continuing at the Port of Mobile.

The container terminal at the Port of Mobile is operated by APM Terminals. . al.comContainer traffic has continued to boom at the Port of Mobile, with the Alabama Port Authority reporting double- and triple-digit growth in container traffic.

According to information released Tuesday by the Port Authority, April 2022 brought a 39.7% increase in container volume over April 2021. At the port’s intermodal container transfer facility, activity grew 112.6% from April 2021. Refrigerated cargo continued to increase, growing 57.9% from April 2021.

Coming infrastructure investments will help support the trend, the Port Authority said.
