After an especially warm week leading up to Fiesta San Antonio, a significant cold front is possible as we start the 11-day festival.
If it’s mid-April in San Antonio , it’s time for Fiesta , the 11-day festival we all know and love. Before you start exchanging medals and chomping down on a chicken on a stick, you may be wondering what Mother Nature has in store for South Texas . We have a real chance that a cold front could cause temps to tumble. Here’s what the models say Because we still have nearly a week until Fiesta starts on April 18, a lot of uncertainty remains with this forecast.
The European ECMWF model doesn’t bring the front through until much later that night, leading to temps in the 80s for Fiesta’s first major event, Fiesta Fiesta. The front could bring a chance of showers and storms, too. So far, Thursday has a 30% chance of rain, and some storms could be strong. How cool will things get? Long-range weather models also differ with exactly how strong the cold front could be.
