At a university with such a rich history of student occupations, it’s notable that none of the recent ones have emerged strictly out of students’ solidarity with faculty; this was the first time that part-time faculty had been on strike in the university’s history. And this is perhaps the most interesting thing about the One New School Coalition, since students believe that their occupation compelled the university administration to update its final offer.
