Strictly Come Dancing's Amy Dowden has opened up about her battle with confidence as she prepares for a return to the popular BBC show.
In an intimate chat with Good Housekeeping UK, Amy recounted turning to her sister, Rebecca, for support, who advised her to opt for a single mastectomy and chemotherapy. Following her sister's advice, Amy underwent eight rounds of chemo and expressed gratitude, saying she was "so glad" she did. Last year, Amy made a heartfelt return to Strictly, courageously performing without her wig, and on November 8, celebrated the end of her chemotherapy by ringing the bell. Nonetheless, she acknowledged that her recovery journey isn't over as she still faces ongoing treatments, including monthly injections for the next five years.
"I know it's going to be tough on my body, and I've been suffering with confidence issues because I put on weight during my treatment and haven't been dancing like the other pros have."
