Strictly Come Dancing pro Amy Dowden was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2023 and allowed cameras to follow her throughout her battle
Anton du Beke gave a heartbreaking phone call to his Strictly Come Dancing co-star Amy Dowden upon learning about her battle with breast cancer. Back in 2023, Amy was living her dream as a pro dancer on Strictly Come Dancing and had recently tied the knot with the love of her life, Ben. During their honeymoon period, however, she noticed a lump in her breast which later tests revealed was breast cancer; she was only 32 at the time.
' He concluded, stating: 'I am thinking about you, lots of love.' Recalling her initial conversation with Strictly bosses post-diagnosis, Amy tearfully commented to the cameras that she requested them to, 'Keep my job,'. Amy was not only confronted with an operation and chemotherapy but also had to tackle the fact that doctors warned chemo would impact her fertility.
