A crash involving two semi trucks on Interstate 25 shut down the highway in both directions in Loveland for most of the afternoon, the lanes reopened at about 5 p.m.
The crash happened at about 12:20 p.m. in the southbound lanes, said Master Trooper Gary Cutler, a Colorado State Patrol spokesman. One of the two trucks involved in the crash caught fire and that driver suffered burns, Cutler said.
The crash happened beneath the U.S. 34 overpass, Cutler said. The overpass was also shut down because of the crash as staff with the Colorado Department of Transportation checked the bridge for structural integrity after the fire. U.S. 34 reopened before 4:30 p.m., according to the state patrol, and I-25 reopened at about 5 p.m.
