The massively popular Netflix series created by the Duffer brothers is returning for an epic final season, which the show's writing team has been hard at work on since last August. Stranger Things season 5 will pick up sometime after season 4's momentous cliffhanger, which saw the town of Hawkins invaded by the Upside Down.

This is expected to help account for the show's aging cast but might also risk straying even further from season 1.
