A cast update for Stranger Things season 5 reveals a minor character won’t return, and while that isn’t a big loss, it makes me relieved for one character, while the show continues a big trend. After four seasons of many twists and shocking reveals, Stranger Things is ending with its fifth season, which has a lot to cover and solve.
Mrs. Henderson Not Returning In Stranger Things Season 5 Points To Dustin’s Survival Rest Assured That Dustin Will Most Likely Survive Stranger Things’ Final Season The whole Hawkins crew will be back in Stranger Things season 5, but some minor characters who appeared in previous seasons won’t. Such is the case for Mrs. Henderson , Dustin’s mother, who had minor appearances in seasons 2, 3, and 4.
If Dustin was planned to die in Stranger Things season 5, his mother would definitely be brought back even if just for a cameo appearance . It would feel wrong and unnecessarily cruel if Dustin died and his mother didn’t return to mourn her only child, so it’s fair to say that Dustin is on the safe side.
This “no parents” trend makes sense as it’s what Stephen King did in It , which heavily inspired the show.
