The cast and crew traveled to more locations than ever before to film the fourth season.have been confined to Hawkins – a fictional Midwestern town – and entirely filmed in the Southern state of Georgia.
However the massively popular 80s-set teen thriller goes west and decamps to eastern Europe in season four. The fictional Hawkins, California, and Russia were recreated in Atlanta; Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Lithuania, respectively.split into two volumes. The first volume is seven episodes long. Season four volume two may only be made up of two episodes, but with the total watch time clocking in at about four hours, there should be more than enough to get stuck in.
The Duffer Brothers explained why they separated the season into two: “Given the unprecedented length, and to get it to you as soon as possible, Season 4 will be released in two volumes.”
