Stranger Things has ended after nearly a decade, but fans have been trying to decode hidden Easter eggs that could signal that not everything is over. #ConformityGate is trending worldwide and is causing panic amongst Stranger Things fans as they desperately search for signs that not everything is over for their favorite characters.
Fans have been deep diving into Easter Eggs, codes, and signs signaling that the final episode, which aired on December 31, is fake. Some clues fans have identified that could signal a"fake" finale include the crowd's folded hands during graduation, similar to Henry Creel’s, and the Dungeons & Dragons books during the epilogue, which spelled out"X A Lie," referring to Dimension X or The Abyss. January 7 is a significant date, as numerology throughout Season 5 has been heavily influenced by the number 7. Season 5 included eight episodes, with the last being just over two hours. The final episode showed Hawkins’ heroes defeat the Mind Flayer and Vecna , but ended in tragedy as Eleven sacrificed herself to ensure the safety of her loved ones and the world. However, during the epilogue, Eleven’s love interest Mike Wheeler shares a theory that Eleven actually escaped and isn’t dead after all. The Duffer Brothers shared in an interview with Happy Sad Podcast that only they and Brown know Eleven’s true ending. While it’s unclear if fans will get to see another final episode, Matt and Ross Duffer have confirmed two spin-offs will be created to ensure the franchise doesn’t end just yet.
