Star Trek: Picard's showrunner had one big regret about season 3, but Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' new season will seemingly fix it. Picard and Strange New Worlds are both part of the new Star Trek television renaissance taking place ever since the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery in 2017. A spin-off of Discovery, Strange New World season 2 premieres on June 15th, 2023 with a third season already greenlit.
How Strange New Worlds’ Romance Fixes Picard Season 3’s Big Regret Luckily, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 2 is seemingly full of romance, balancing out the lack of it in Picard and fixing Matalas's big regret. There are no less than three romantic encounters depicted in the Strange New Worlds season 2 official trailer. Captain Pike can be seen sharing a kiss with his season 1 love interest, Captain Batel , who seems to be taking on a bigger role in season 2.
