It was supposed to be a temporary stop, a place to regroup and wait for the right moment to continue on toward the United States. Then President Trump issued decrees that effectively shut down migration along the U.S.

” Waiting and seeing The two boys, aged 2 and 4, romped through the labyrinth of La Soledad, under lines of drying laundry, past deliverymen pushing stacked handcarts and carpenters hammering away at tottering structures. “Its not a great place for kids,” said their mother, Alexandra Roa, 21, standing in front of the family’s plywood-and-plastic dwelling. They have been in Mexico for seven months.
