Atascocita coach David Martinez and the Eagles will face a formidable foe in Duncanville in the Class 6A state semifinals Friday night.With the UIL boys basketball state tournament getting underway Thursday morning at the Alamodome in San Antonio, here are some statewide storylines to watch for:Atascocita has been on a roll during the playoffs, winning four of five games by double digits.
Hitchcock, led by coach Chris Jordan, has won 18 straight games and averages 74.3 points per contest. The Bulldogs defeated their first five playoff opponents by an average of 19.4 points. Hitchcock will have a stout test in the semifinals against defending champion San Antonio Cole , which is making its fourth straight state tournament appearance and ninth overall. Hitchcock and Cole will hit the court at 3 p.m. Thursday.
