The event, held at Travis Park and broadcast by KSAT 12, was canceled around 7:30 p.m. after lightning, hail and flooding moved through the area. More than 1,000 people had descended on Travis Park for the family-friendly event, which started at 4 p.m.KSAT meteorologists said an approaching cold front, combined with some upper-level energy brought South-Central Texas the severe storms. A band of storms came through the area around 6:30 p.m. and another, larger storm is expected around 10 p.m. Thursday night through 1 a.m. There is a chance for lingering showers in the morning.The event was slated to be broadcast from 8 to 10 p.m. on KSAT 12. Instead, live weather coverage and regular scheduled ABC programming will be broadcast.
