The surface will be relaid in September to coincide with the Rugby World Cup in France. No matches that involve the Stormers or Western Province are earmarked for that period. To be fair though the stadium and its surface were designed as a 2010 Fifa World Cup venue. Now it has to future-proof itself.
Under the agreement the Stormers and WP will play 12 to 15 matches a year at the stadium. It will include Test matches allocated to WP Rugby by the SA Rugby Union.
