The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners declared a disaster emergency Saturday afternoon and confirmed Pennsylvania American Water’s main break was caused by the remnants of storm Debby.

The Cumberland County Board of Commissioners declared a disaster emergency around 3 p.m. Saturday and confirmed the remnants of Tropical Storm Debby caused the water main break inThe water main break caused three of the four acute care facilities within Cumberland County to completely lose water pressure, the county’s release said.

This map, released around 5 p.m., shows which areas are waiting to have their water pressure restored and boil water advisory lifted. New Cumberland is the only place that is operating normally. Credit: Pennsylvania American WaterPennsylvania American Water said about 15,000 people are still experiencing little to no water pressure as of 5 p.m.

The areas of Fairview, Reeser’s Summit, Gaumer Road Gradient, Evergreen, Redland and Fairfield had their water pressure restored by 5 p.m. but are still under a boil water advisory, according to a map released by Pennsylvania American Water.
