We get angry at ourselves for not being able to reach societal standards–like ”bounce back” after childbirth or master perfectly attuned parenting. Anger turned inward slows us down and perpetuates harm; anger turned outward can create social change. When you notice you feel shame, ask yourself what is coming up at that moment.
