Estée Lauder — Shares jumped more than 6% after Bank of America upgraded them to buy from neutral. The firm highlighted improving profitability, new products and rising presence in the prestige beauty sector.
Its full-year guidance was for an 8 cent to 12 cent loss per share, compared to the consensus estimate of a 2 cent loss. Allstate — The insurance company gained nearly 2% on the back of an HSBC upgrade to buy from hold.
