U.S. stocks look to build on Wednesday’s rally after the Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged and Chairman Jerome Powell signaled the economy is in a good place. On the trade front, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent is meeting with Chinese officials to move the needle on Trump’s trade talks.
Stocks are higher on Thursday after President Donald Trump confirmed a trade deal with the U.K. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed more than 150 points, or 0.4%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 0.

Trump on Thursday morning confirmed a new 'full and comprehensive' trade deal with the U.K. 'The agreement with the United Kingdom is a full and comprehensive one that will cement the relationship between the United States and the United Kingdom for many years to come,' Trump wrote in a post on Truth Social. 'Because of our long time history and allegiance together, it is a great honor to have the United Kingdom as our FIRST announcement. Many other deals, which are in serious stages of negotiation, to follow!' Stocks closed higher on Wednesday as investors eyed the Federal Reserve's decision to keep interest rates unchanged. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 284.97 points, or 0.7%, while the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rose 0.43% and 0.27%, respectively. The Federal Reserve on Wednesday announced that it will leave its benchmark interest rate unchanged as policymakers continue to monitor inflation and the labor market amid elevated levels of economic uncertainty.
