The Blicksteads, who met at Harvard, are upsizing from nearby Double Bay, where they recently sold their parkside terrace for $9.3 million to freight and transport bosswho also own a Point Piper trophy home on exclusive Wingadal Place, purchased for $38 million in 2021.The Blicksteads’ new four-bedroom abode is billed as a character home in a private setting, with northerly views from every level across Rose Bay and surrounded by mature landscaped gardens.
The Fitzwilliam Road listing comes less than two years after the couple paid $25.28 million for the property previously owned by former Westpac chiefKnown as Rockpool after its private rock-formed harbour pool – rumoured to be the product of a gelignite explosion – the three-level, four-bedroom property is understood to be the closest home to the harbour, with water lapping at its footings at high tide.
The selling agent, Sotheby’s Michael Pallier, put the circa $7 million price jump from 2021’s sale price down to several factors.
