Stick hopes Boks take lessons of Marseille into hostile quarter-final against France
Springbok assistant coach Mzwandile Stick said their experience of Marseille when they played France last year will serve them well in next Sunday's Rugby World Cup quarter-final in Paris.
The Springboks face France in the fourth Rugby World Cup quarter-final at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis in a game that will pit the holders against the hosts. Stick said while the result did matter in the end, the experience gained from that game was priceless for what they’re going to experience in Paris on Sunday.“I think it’s a good thing because, if you look at the game we played against them last year, it was close,” Stick said.
“We were unfortunate last year when we finished the game with 13 players, but we kept on fighting, so we have the belief that it’s possible."We need to make sure that we pitch up on the day because it’s going to be tough. If Dupont comes back, happy days for France because that’s what the people want to see. What the Boks do have in their armoury are players who have either played in France or are playing in France.
