Reports had claimed that Al Ettifaq, who are managed by Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, were lining up a move for Manchester United striker Mason Greenwood
Steven Gerrard has rubbished reports linking his Al Ettifaq side with a move for Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood as "fake news."
The Crown Prosecution Service dropped charges of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour and assault occasioning actual bodily harm against Greenwood on February 2, 2023. Greenwood maintained his innocence and said in a statement released via United that he "did not do the things I was accused of."
Since that decision was made public, clubs have been linked with a move for Greenwood, whose last professional appearance came on January 22, 2022. However, after a report in the Daily Mail linked Saudi Pro League side Al Ettifaq with the forward, Gerrard took to social media to refute such claims.
