New York Mets owner Steve Cohen anxiously awaits a decision that could decide the fate of his $8 billion casino and entertainment complex bid in New York.
With State Senator Jessica Ramos deciding by the end of May whether or not a city-owned parking lot can be used for the Metropolitan Park complex plans, three New York politicians are urging her to support Cohen’s project in the Queens, Corona neighborhood.
Aubry recently introduced his Parkland alienation bill in the other New York legislative chamber, which caught Ramos off guard. “We all deserve to have a voice in this process and have our votes be cast after a thorough and transparent community discussion about the full details of the project included in the ,” the three casino project supporters wrote in the letter. “As you made clear last year, ‘alienation of public land shouldn't be at the discretion of one person.’”
