Scotland is ready and Clarke revealed everyone in his 26-man squad is fit and firing for the mouthwatering opener.
Scotland boss Steve Clarke insists his national heroes fear no one as he revealed everyone of his 26-man squad is fit and firing for their blockbuster Euro 2024 opener.
Scotland take on Germany in the opener and the national team boss was buzzing for the big one. Scotland have qualified for consecutive European championships, however, this is the first away trip since reaching the World Cup in France back in 1998. The stakes are high and Clarke is adamant his players are up to the task as he revealed a six-word mantra he lives by.
He said: "It's the opening game of a four-team section, three matches, we know what we have to do to qualify and that's all we focus on. The enormity of the opener is a bit of a sideshow and hopefully we don't get too caught up in that. It's a difficult game. One of the mantras I've had is respect everyone and fear no one. We know they're a good team but hopefully we can show everyone we're a good team as well.
Clarke has been bullish in the build-up and he made clear there is no reason not to believe ahead of the big opener. He added: "We believe we can get a result every time we go to the pitch, otherwise what's the point. We prepared well, we're ready and hopefully we can show that tomorrow night. Everyone is fully fit, flying, desperate to be selected and ready to go."
