The Ballmer Group, led by the Clippers owner and his wife, announces relief funding particularly for “the historic, racially diverse community of Altadena.”
Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and wife Connie attend a Bruno Mars concert on opening night at Intuit Dome on Aug. 15, 2024, in Inglewood. Clippers owner Steve Ballmer and his wife, Connie, are donating an initial $15 million in emergency funding for the people impacted by the recent Southern California wildfires, the Ballmer Group announced Thursday on its website.
Ballmer stressed that his donation would help the relief efforts “in the historic, racially diverse community of Altadena.” The couple added that the group is coordinating with local partners to address immediate food and shelter needs in the community and for the first responders, according to his website.
“We love L.A. and are committed to supporting the communities affected by the devastating wildfires,” Ballmer said in a statement. The Ballmer Group also is behind FireAid, an evening of music and solidarity on Jan. 30 that will be held at Intuit Dome. The event, in partnership with the Azoff Family, Live Nation and AEG, is dedicated to rebuilding the communities and supporting the efforts to prevent future fire disasters in Southern California.
“We understand there will be a long road to recovery for the L.A. region and remain committed to supporting the community,” Ballmer said.
