Opinions are mixed on the couple's announcement; some Brits feel abandoned by the couple, while Americans are, by and large,
to be the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's new compatriots. To me, though, Harry's rejection of his rarefied royal position has another, perhaps more trivial, dimension: It's extremely attractive.have left many of us with the message that there is nothing more appealing or romantic than a partner giving up their place in society—in their family, even!—to be with you.
The unorthodox move by the Sussexes shouldn't be ascribed to Harry alone—no doubt, this was a hard-won decision made collaboratively. It also goes without saying that Meghan is an autonomous human being who doesn't need a man to defend her. But I can't deny that seeing Harry take a decisive step back from the Crown on behalf of his family's wellbeing is, to put it as cerebrally as possible, super-hot.
