Legendary novelist Stephen King gives his honest assessment of a new, dystopic sci-fi streaming drama, highlighting the show in a new post.
Stephen King gives his honest review of the Apple TV+ series Silo. A sci-fi drama based on the Wool novels by Hugh Howey, Silo is created by Graham Yost. The story unfolds in a dystopian future, as a community exists in a giant silo that extends hundreds of stories underground. While ten thousand people believe they live in a society bound by regulations they believe are meant to protect them, darker truths are gradually revealed.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT King has now shared a very positive assessment of Silo with his Twitter followers. The seminal horror novelist wrote that the Apple TV+ show was "mysterious and terrifically suspenseful". He also specifies the aspects he found praiseworthy about the ten-episode dystopian sci-fi, including the fact that it's a strong example of the genre with compelling characters.
Why Silo Has Become A Hit King's positive review isn't the only good news for the Apple TV drama. New data delves into how Silo beat out its competing streaming shows as the number one most in-demand breakout show for the week of May 27 to June 2. In the study, which looks at newly-released shows, the results are calculated using a combination of consumer research, social media engagement, and streaming data.
Silo was likely helped right out of the gate with a strong premiere episode. Unlike a lot of elaborate dystopian sci-fi series, the Apple TV adaptation doesn't concern itself with tons of exposition to explain the world. Instead, it starts by telling a fairly grounded story of a couple that's trying to conceive their first child. From there, the scope and focus of Silo expand while still prioritizing the human concerns driving the story.
