SNP Westminster leader Stephen Flynn has called on Scottish Labour to reveal whether it intends to scrap the pensions triple lock.
He challenged Scottish Labour leader Anas Sarwar to “come clean over whether the Labour Party is secretly planning to scrap the triple lock and impose real-terms cuts to Scottish pensions”.A commitment to the policy was urged ahead of the Rutherglen and Hamilton West by-election, which looks set to be a straight battle between Labour and the SNP.
Flynn pressed Rishi Sunak in Prime Minister's Questions last week about his party's commitment to maintaining the triple lock beyond the next election - a question which the PM appeared to dodge. “The public will not forgive the Labour Party if it continues to impose these damaging policies and takes an axe to the triple lock.
The Scottish Labour leader has also been criticised for not supporting the devolution of drug laws to Scotland in recent weeks.
