What began as a scheduling shuffle at SiriusXM has reignited one of sports media’s most personal feuds
Former ESPN host Michelle Beadle said she does not respect any of the work done by current ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith.on her podcast, Smith unleashed an hour-long tirade on his SiriusXM show — reminding his former “Get Up!” cohost exactly why she’s no longer in the business.
“You got some people that were in this business, and they talk smack now cause they can’t get a job in the business cause they didn’t do a good enough job when they were in the business ... and their reputation is they’re talking to people,” Smith said on his Sirius XM show on Friday. “Well, what you got going on? It’s all of that that comes with it, because somewhere along the way, they didn’t do what it took to resonate continuously. And that’s why they’re on the outside looking in … they don’t have a job in the industry. Don’t think they don’t want one. They do. They just didn’t know how to act, and they didn’t know how to be productive enough to keep a job.”Sirius XM show on Mad Dog Sports Radio, he went on an hour-plus-long rant responding to his critics, especially Beadle. “I know why you’re gone. I know why you ain’t back. I know why you can’t go to other networks,” Smith said on Monday,In a minute-long rant on her daily podcast with former pro-baseball player Cody Decker last week, Beadle tried her best to show listeners what Smith is really like behind the scenes. “I told everyone I work with, I will never share a set with that person ever, because I don’t respect him ... Life’s too short,” Beadle said. “The minute, literally, the minute the morning of my last day on ‘Get Up!’ as was giving me a heartfelt goodbye, and I awkwardly sat there as I was leaving the set, they started a promo that Stephen A Smith will be on the show tomorrow, like it is him. So let’s stop acting like the guy gets worked to death. It’s him.” In June, Smith announced that he would be hosting two shows on SiriusXM’s Mad Dog Sports Radio channel, a sports talk station that features former WFAN personality One of Smith’s shows airs in the early afternoon, beginning at 1 p.m.. This show replaced Beadle’s show on Sept. 2. The other, “Straight Shooter with Stephen A.,” in which he discusses politics and culture, airs Wednesdays starting at 6 p.m. EST.Here’s what Giants’ new coach told team after Brian Daboll firingIf you purchase a product or register for an account through a link on our site, we may receive compensation.and agree that your clicks, interactions, and personal information may be collected, recorded, and/or stored by us and social media and other third-party partners in accordance with our
