Stephan Schrock is trading his national team jersey to focus on his personal life and possibly a new role for the Philippine Azkals.
The Filipino-German, who put his pride for the flag in the past 11 years, played his final match for the country where they conceded two goals to Indonesia in the AFF Mitsubishi Electric Cup 2022 last Jan. 2.
For the last time though, the Philippines had something to show for itself after Schrock’s superb passing that Sebastian Rasmussen converted into a goal late in the game. “Yeah. Unlike others that retired, I’d love to stay, I know it’s difficult. I know it’s not the easiest job. Coach probably can tell you more about that. But I’d love to be involved, I’d love to whenever it is, in any [way], I’m making myself available.
For better or for worse, Schrock has stayed committed and brought what he could to the table for over a decade.
